Rent proration calculator
Rent for a part month, by the days actually occupied in that month.
How it’s worked out
Prorated rent = monthly rent × days occupied ÷ days in that month. The move-in or move-out date counts as an occupied day.
Example: $1,200 rent, moving in on September 16: 15 of 30 days, so $600.00.
This is one common method, using the actual month. Your lease or local rules may set a different one, so check them first.
Let the rent ledger do this.
Praedia OS™ creates rent charges automatically and prorates part months by the days occupied, so you can see who owes what.
