Mortgage payment calculator
The monthly principal and interest payment, total interest, and where the balance stands after a few years.
How it’s worked out
Payment = P × r × (1 + r)n ÷ ((1 + r)n − 1), where P is the loan, r the monthly rate and n the number of payments.
Example: $300,000 at 6.5% over 30 years is $1,896.20 a month, before any escrow for taxes and insurance.
Early payments are mostly interest. Interest is an expense; principal reduces what you owe.
Done by hand once. Or every month in your books.
Praedia OS™ splits each mortgage payment into interest, principal and escrow from the loan’s own schedule, and takes the balance from your ledger.
